Having read some less than glowing reviews of this hotel, staying there was a pleasant surprise. It is very conveniently located across from a metro station that will whizz you to Universal Studios or Hollywood Boulevard for just a few dollars. Also, some good pizzerias, a bank, a shopping mall and a supermarket just around the corner. Small, but clean rooms, nice toiletries, professional staff, a decent selection of TV channels. The only thing missing for me was the tea and coffee making facilities that are usually provided in British hotels of this standard. I'd be happy to stay there again.
This hotel is well located and is a good base from which to explore LA.Nice clean large room and a good selection of places to eat before setting off on your day of shopping or just taking in the sites and sounds that LA has to offer.Staff were good and we stayed sept 2003 with no problems at all.Not just a hotel for directors and sales men!
Wilshire Grand on Dec 2003 for Christmas (no decorations in the lobby).Stayed in a Deluxe Room with 2 bathrooms (small sink), 2 double beds (lumpy). The doubles beds were not comfy at all. The bathrooms need renovations since it's old style.Lobby is a bit small and unimpressive. Come on, put a tree at least, it's Christmas! But the best part, FREE WIRELESS INTERNET...Still, Hotel needs some soul and new beds.
We stayed at the Wilshire Grand Hotel and Centre from August 3, through August 7, 2003.The Wilshire Grand Hotel and Centre was headquarters of our convention. This is a first class hotel. I saw at least two different airline personnel staying at the hotel while we were there. The Front Office and other staff were very helpful. The rooms were very spacious and well appointed and kept very clean. It is located close to various types of eating facilities from McDonalds to five star eating places. It is just down the streets to Macy's, the Post Office, the Los Angeles public library(I went to check my e-mail) other hotels. If you walk down about eight blocks, you will run into the Jewerly District, Fashion District. Prices are very reasonable. I brought a shower curtain set for $8.50. After I got home, I saw the same set for $24.99.It was a very pleasant experience. I would stay there again. |
