Los Angeles - New Otani Hotel and Garden: "Good business hotel, but not for vacationers"

This hotel is fine if you have business at the Convention Center, courthouses, or other downtown locations. The rooms are reasonably spacious. Several good sushi places are within walking distance. But I would not stay here if I came to L.A. on vacation. It's a little too dull. The Japanese garden is nice, but you can hear the traffic from the streets around you so it's not exactly tranquil. There is no pool, so there's no way to just lounge around and enjoy the beautiful L.A. weather. Also, the location is not ideal. It's not close to many tourist areas. The neighborhood empties out after business hours and the area is a little sketchy at night.
